The obsessive thoughts unique to OCD sufferers have been finally diagnosed as something that is a result of an imbalance in the biochemicals flowing though the frontal region of the brain. Experts found out the the thoughts are made by neutrotransmitters sending improper signals to the brain. These thoughts later transform into a obsession then eventually into a compulsion. A sufferer generally choose between doing the ritual dictated by the compulsion (out of fear that by not doing so, something really terrible will happen) or the sufferer may opt to deliberate resist the urge to do the ritual, which for some is really difficult.
